South Africa vs England 2nd T20 Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

South Africa and England make their to Kingsmead in Durban for the 2nd T20 of the three-match series. I’m sticking with the hosts as they remain underdogs with captain Quinton de Kock still the form player with the bat. Jason Roy was superb for England and deserves to be backed in the best England batsman market.

South Africa Form

South Africa bowled brilliantly to win the 1st T20 against England by one run at Buffalo Park. Earlier in the day Quinton de Kock got the hosts off to a flying start with 31 runs off 15 balls. Unfortunately he miss-hit a hook to lose his wicket but De Kock’s form remains strong.

South Africa ended on a disappointing total of 177 as they looked to be heading towards 200 runs for most of the innings. A slow start with the ball made England heavy favourites but then Lungi Ngidi stepped up to take 3-30 to win the game for the Proteas.

South Africa remain underdogs but I’m going to stick with them to win at 2.30 and Quinton de Kock in the best batsman market at 3.00.

South Africa News

South Africa will want to test their squad but I expect fewer changes from them. We may see Bjorn Fortuin for Dwaine Pretorius as Kingsmead will offer the spin bowlers some assistance.

England Form

England lost the 1st T20 against South Africa at Buffalo Park by one run after getting themselves into a very strong position. Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid and Mark Wood bowled brilliantly at the end to ensure South Africa only made 177 runs after looking for 200+ for most of their innings.

In response Jason Roy was superb, scoring 70 runs off 38 balls but the lower to middle order bottled a certain victory. Needing three from the final ball to win and two to tie England only managed a single which left them one run short.

Despite defeat, Roy deserves to be backed in the best batsman market at 4.00 after that magnificent innings.

England News

England are sure to make changes after they inexplicably dropped Dawid Malan for the 1st T20 after showing fantastic form in the format. They are also looking towards the T20 World Cup which means there may be changes in the bowling department.

South Africa vs England Head to Head

England have won three of the last five T20’s against South Africa, but it was the Proteas who came out on top in the 1st T20 of the current series. After scoring 177 runs South Africa defended the total as England lost by one run at Buffalo Park.

South Africa vs England Betting Odds

South Africa are underdogs at 2.30 with England priced at 1.61 for the win. The best batsman market remains of interest with Quinton de Kock paying 3.00, Temba Bavuma 4.00 and Rassie van der Dussen 4.50. For England Jason Roy is priced at 4.00 and Jos Buttler at 3.75.

South Africa vs England Match Up

South Africa and England saw their batsmen fire in the 1st T20 and I expect the 2nd T20 to be much the same. South Africa’s bowling line-up looks a lot more dangerous with the addition of veteran Dale Steyn and he could be the key to the result of this match.
