The run chase was tight all the way through on a difficult wicket. Angelo Mathews’ 46 secured the win off the final ball of the match.

In their bid to secure the series, I expect Sri Lanka to remain unchanged, depending on pitch conditions.

Zimbabwe were within a whisker of winning the first match but suffered defeat off the final delivery.

Batting first, Sikandar Raza starred with the bat, scoring 62 off 42 balls. The next highest score was 26 as Zimbabwe posted a decent 143 runs in 20 overs.

Zimbabwe manfully tried to defend a total that was par at best. Sikandar Raza backed up his brilliant innings with the bat with a superb bowling spell, taking 3-13 in four overs. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as the hosts won off the final delivery.
