  • West Indies have won 7 of their last 8 T20I matches against Australia.
  • West Indies lead the current series 3-0 against Australia.

Head to Head

West Indies have won seven of their last eight T20I matches against Australia. The current five-match series is 3-0 in the West Indies favour having won the 3rd T20I by six wickets.

West Indies Form

The West Indies hold an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match T20 series against Australia. They have been victorious by comfortable margins in all three matches thus far.

In the 3rd T20I, the West Indies bowled first. Hayden Walsh was once again the pick of the bowlers taking 2-18 in four overs. Australia were restricted to 141 runs in their 20 overs.

Andre Fletcher and Lendl Simmons fell early in the chase but legendary Chris Gayle smashed 67 off 38 balls. Nicholas Pooran ended on 32 not out while the star of the previous match, Shimron Hetmyer didn’t get to bat.

The West Indies cruised home by six wickets with more than five overs to spare in Gros Islet.

West Indies Injuries & Team News

The West Indies have been very consistent in their selection and that is expected to continue with the T20 World Cup around the corner.

Australia Form

Australia have struggled during this T20I series against the West Indies, particularly with bat in hand. They went into the 3rd T20I knowing they must win to keep the series alive but suffered a six wicket loss to the hosts.

For the first time in the series Australia batted first with Moises Henriques scoring 33 and Aaron Finch 30 runs. The total of 141 runs was always going to be a bit low against a strong West Indian batting lineup.

Mitchell Starc found his form with a superb four over spell where he went for just 15 runs, taking one wicket. Unfortunately the others didn’t back him up as the hosts cruised to victory with five overs to spare and six wickets in hand.

Australia Injuries & Team News

Alex Carey came into the side for Josh Philippe but failed to really get going. He should however get another run. Riley Meredith will also likely retain his place.
