In order to progress, Bangladesh must hope Australia lose heavily to India and then beat Afghanistan by a huge margin to sufficiently improve their net run rate.

Bangladesh lost their last match to India by 50 runs. Chasing 197 for victory, they could only manage 146 runs. Najmul Hossain Shanto top scored with 40 runs.
