Afghanistan beat Ireland 2-1 and lost 2-1 to Sri Lanka in recent T20I series. Uganda came third in the recent African Games, but they will be no match for an Afghanistan side that is captained by Rashid Khan.

Afghanistan ran through Scotland’s top order, reducing them to 59/6 before ending on 123/9 off their 20 overs. Karim Janat (2/13, econ 6.5) was the pick of the Afghanistan bowlers.

Afghanistan are in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team. They are likely to beat Uganda by 50-plus runs.

Uganda battled in their two warmup matches ahead of the World Cup.

They lost to Namibia by five wickets after being restricted to 134/8 off their 20 overs. Roger Mukasa top-scored for Uganda with 51*, while Henry Ssenyondo (2/14) performed the best with the ball for Uganda.

Three days later they took a pounding from Scotland in a rain-reduced match. Scotland limited Uganda to 90/5 off their 18 overs and Scotland were 27/0 inside two overs when rain saved Uganda’s blushes.

Uganda have played some good cricket against lower-ranked sides, but they have struggled against the top 10 to 15 teams in world cricket. Afghanistan are huge favourites to win this match by a large margin.
