Australia began their T20 Cricket World Cup campaign with victory, albeit not the most convincing performance against Oman.

Batting first, Australia scored 165 in their 20 overs. Marcus Stoinis top scored with 67 off 36 balls while David Warner managed 56 at just more than a run a ball.

The bowlers were more convincing though as Marcus Stoinis took 3-19 in three overs to complete a superb man of the match performance. Oman were could only reach 125 in 20 overs.

The Aussies are likely to stick with the same side that faced Oman, although they will want a better showing from the top order.

England’s opening T20 World Cup match was abandoned against Scotland, so they shared the points.

Before the rain came, Scotland made a superb start with the bat, reaching 90-0 after 10 overs. It looked like it could be a very good contest, but the rain took that away.

Mark Wood and Jofra Archer started well, going at six or less per over. But the backup bowlers were hammered all over the park, especially Chris Jordan and Adil Rashid, who both went at 12 or more per over.
