Canada and Ireland are under a bit of pressure having lost their opening games. However, while Ireland's form has not been great, they do tend to play better sides. The Irish should be too good with value on Lorcan Tucker in the run scoring markets.

Canada made a great start to the match, racking up 194/5 off their 20 overs. Navneet Dhaliwal (61 off 44 balls) got the innings off to a strong start, with Nicholas Kirton (51 off 31 balls) and Shreyas Movva (32* off 16 balls) scoring freely towards the end of the innings.

The USA powered their way to the win with plenty of time left on the clock, reaching their target with 14 balls in hand. Kaleem Sana (1/34) and Dilon Heyliger (1/19) did their best to pin the USA back but the USA were just too strong with the bat.

Canada are in pretty good form but they will have to really raise their game to make an impact against Ireland. They have been steadily improving their T20 skills by bringing together a mix of experienced players and exciting youngsters. They enjoyed good form in the qualifiers, which shows their potential to cause upsets.

Ireland Form

Ireland let themselves down in their opener against India, losing by eight wickets with almost 50 balls to spare.

Ireland’s top six all failed to score above 12 as they collapsed to 49/7, with Gareth Delany’s 26 runs off 14 balls almost succeeding in getting his side to three figures.

Chasing just 97 for the win, India lost an early wicket, but the target was too small and India got to the win off 12.2 overs. Mark Adair (1/27, econ 6.75) performed the best with the ball for Ireland.

Ireland should be far too strong for Canada, although Ireland do have a habit of being inconsistent with the bat in T20Is. This has the potential to be a big upset.
