India have a superb side with plenty of depth in all areas. Unless Ireland produces something special, India should be too good for them.

The smart money is on Virat Kohli in this game. The former captain was in superb form during the IPL recently, topping the run scoring charts at an average of over 60.

India have won their last 3 T20I matches.

India have won their last four T20I against Ireland. They last met in August 2023; a series India won 2-0 with one match abandoned.

India Form

India have only played one T20I match since January when they beat Afghanistan in a three-match series. However, all the Indian players played in the recent IPL so all of them will have plenty of game time under the belt.

In their only warmup game, India beat Bangladesh by 60 runs. Batting first, India scored 182 runs in New York. Rishabh Pant top scored with 53 off 32 balls while Hardik Pandya hit 40 off 23 late on.

A solid bowling display in which India used eight bowlers, Bangladesh could only reach 122 in 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh was superb with 2-12 in three overs.

India Injuries & Team News

India have incredible strength and depth in their squad so it is tough to predict who will start and who won’t. However, Virat Kohli is almost certain to return to the side after not playing the warmup.

Ireland Form

The Irish are certainly not lacking for game time having played plenty of T20I cricket recently. They lost a series 2-1 at home to Pakistan in early May before beating the Netherlands twice and Scotland.

That was followed by a 41-run defeat to Sri Lanka in their final warmup game. Sri Lanka batted first, scoring 163 runs in their 20 overs.

Ireland could only muster 122 runs as they were bowled out in under 19 overs. Curtis Campher top scored with 26 runs.

Ireland have a solid side in both bowling and batting disciplines. On their day they are capable of beating some top teams, but consistency is an issue for them.
