This should be a good contest and although Netherlands are favourites, Nepal have players capable of big performances. I am backing Rohit Paudel and Michael Levitt to top score for their respective sides.

The Netherlands final warmup game against Canada was abandoned without a ball being bowled in Dallas. However, the Dutch caused a major upset in their first warmup, defeating Sri Lanka by 20 runs.

Batting first, Netherlands scored 181 runs in 20 overs. Michael Levitt top scored with 55 off 28 balls while there were smaller contributions down the order.

A superb bowling effort in which Aryan Dutt took 3-20 saw the Dutch bowl Sri Lanka out for 161 runs.

The Netherlands have quite a bit of experience within their side and should be able to hold their own against better sides. This is however a game though will have to win.

Nepal Form

Nepal are not in great form coming into this tournament but they have produced some noteworthy performances over the last 12 months.

They suffered a 4-1 series defeat to West Indies-A in late April and early March. They then lost to Canada in their only warmup game as their fixture against the USA was rained out.

Against Canada, Nepal could only muster 120 runs whilst chasing 184 for victory. Kushal Malla top scored with 37 runs in that match.

Rohit Praudel is key to Nepal’s batting lineup. They have other players who can also, on their day, produce the goods, but they will need to put runs on the board to have any chance.
