Pakistan to rely heavily on bowlers at T20 World Cup

Squad strength
They have committed a lot of their bowling resources to pace, but their attack is experienced and they have the ability to knock sides over. They have selected three of their top five all-time leading T20I run-scorers and five of their top eight all-time leading T20I wicket-takers, so they are not short of experience.
Key players
Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman have around 9 000 T20I runs between them and are likely to score the bulk of Pakistan’s runs. Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf have each taken over 90 wickets in T20Is. Babar Azam will rely on them to lead the attack and support their batters by keeping things tight when the opposition bat.
Coach’s call
"This is an extremely talented and balanced side that has a mixture of youth and experience. These players have been playing together for some time and look well prepared and settled for next month's event," read a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board.
"Haris Rauf is fully fit and bowling well in the nets. It would have been nice if he had gotten an outing at Headingley [the T20I against England was washed out], but we remain confident that he will continue to maintain an upward trajectory in the upcoming matches, as he will have an important role to play along with other strike bowlers in the T20 World Cup."
