England’s odds on winning the T20 World Cup have lengthened after a shock defeat to Ireland.

They were beaten by five runs on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method after the game was called off due to rain.

And after a poor performance, Coral pushed England out to 10/3 from 5/2 to win the tournament.

India are now the 5/2 favourites to prevail, with New Zealand 7-2 and tournament hosts Australia 4/1.

“England were as short as 1/8 to beat Ireland,” Coral’s John Hill told FreeTips.com.

“This ranks as one of the biggest upsets in the history of the national team.

“The defeat has left England with work to do if they are to make the last four,

“They have now drifted out in the outright betting, with India the new favourites for the trophy.”
