England come into this match off the back of a 3-0 whitewash of New Zealand. The hosts are however 2-1 down in this series with the final fixture having been delayed earlier this year.

Things have changed a bit since the series started. England have a new captain and coach, and if their performance against New Zealand is anything to go by, this could be exciting.

England were not faultless against the Black Caps and could easily have lost all three matches. But they have showed great resilience in chasing down big scores in the fourth innings on all three occasions.

England have changed much since this series began. Ben Stokes now leads the side but Joe Root remains a pivotal part of the side, as proven in the series win against New Zealand. I don’t expect many changes to the side.

India Form

India lead this series 2-1 and only need a draw secure a series win. That will be a huge feather in the cap of the visitors considering the form England finds themselves in.

India won the fourth Test against England despite suffering a 100-run first innings deficit. Rohit Sharma was the start of that second innings, scoring 127 runs.

Having recently completed the IPL and a T20 series against South Africa and Ireland, India have not played much Test cricket of late.

Rohit Sharma could miss this match after contracting COVID. He has not been ruled out as yet as a call will be made after another round of testing.
