England are 11/4 to regain the series lead ahead of the third Test against India, which gets underway on Thursday.

Ben Stokes’ team have lost momentum in the series after failing to build on their 100-run victory in the first Test, losing the second by 106 runs.

The bookmakers now expect hosts India to back up that victory, with Ladbrokes making them 4/9 favourites for the third meeting.

Rajkot regularly plays host to high-scoring games in domestic cricket, and with a reputation as one of the flattest pitches in India, that could bring the draw into play at around the 8/1 mark.

“With Rajkot reportedly one of the flattest pitches in India, that could bring the draw into play,” a spokesperson for a leading bookmaker told FreeTips.com.

“However, very few Test matches involving England go the distance these days, so it is long odds-on that we’ll see a result this week.

“Although India are strong favourites at 4/9, Ben Stokes’ men will be hopeful they can get the win that will see them regain their lead in the series.”
