Pakistan won all four Super Six matches but still finished second behind India on net run rate. That means they face the Aussies who topped Group 2.

In their last fixture, Pakistan managed to just sneak past Bangladesh in a low-scoring thriller. On a pitch that suited the bowlers, Pakistan could only muster 155 runs before being bowled out in the 41st over.

They looked to be heading for their first defeat, particularly once Bangladesh found themselves with a 26-run opening stand. But a magnificent effort by the bowlers, in particular Ubaid Shah (5-44) kept Bangladesh behind the eight-ball.

Eventually the final wicket fell with Bangladesh stranded on 150, 5 runs shy of the total.

Pakistan did not handle conditions well in their last match with bat in hand. They will have to be a lot better against the Aussies, particularly if the pitch is conducive to seam bowling.
