It’s a tough one to call, but India beat South Africa comfortably prior to the World Cup. I’m backing Uday Saharan to score big for India as my best bet.

India have played the South African U19 team three teams in 2024. While the last match was washed out, early in January the Indian team won both earlier games.

India topped Group 1 in the Super Six stage, winning all four of their games.

In India’s last outing, they comfortably saw off Nepal by 132 runs. India scored 297 runs batting first with Uday Saharan scored 100 and Sachin Das 116 runs.

Nepal never threatened to chase down the score as Saumy Pandey took 4-29 in his 10 overs. Nepal reached 165 in their 50 overs for the loss of nine wickets.

There shouldn’t be any reason for India to make changes to their side. They are unbeaten and in good form.

South Africa U19 Form

South Africa, the tournament hosts, won three of their four Super Six games and finished second in Group 2. Their only defeat came against England in a game affected by rain.

In their last game, South Africa batted first against Sri Lanka, another team looking to qualify for the semis. On a touch pitch, the hosts scored 232 in 50 overs with Lhuan-dre-Pretorius top scored with 71 runs.

Kwena Maphaka then took control with the ball, taking an incredible 6-21 in 8.2 overs. Riley Norton chipped in with four wickets as Sri Lanka were all out for 113 runs.

The tournament hosts are in fine form coming into this tournament. I foresee the same lineup that featured against Sri Lanka.
