Middlesex and Kent Spitfires clash in the T20 Vitality Blast at Lord's in London on Saturday. Neither side were able to complete their respective opening matches on Thursday, but Middlesex's Max Holden did manage to score a 60-ball century before the rain came.

Middlesex Form

Middlesex went as far as the quarter-finals in the t20 Blast in 2019, losing by 10 wickets to the Nottinghamshire Outlaws.

In their opening fixture of 2020's campaign, things got off to the perfect start, before the rain came and put a halt to what would have likely been a victory.

Middlesex posted a score of 184/5 against the Essex Eagles at the County Cricket Ground in Chelmsford on Thursday. Max Holden was explosive with the bat, scoring a maiden century with 102 not out off 60 balls. Sadly, no result could be determined as the rain came hard at the start of the second innings.

Middlesex News

It is likely that Middlesex will go with the same side which did so well with the bat on Thursday.

Kent Spitfires Form

The Kent Spitfires also saw their opening fixture ruined by the rain on Thursday.

Hampshire scored 139/6 in their 20 overs at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury, but the match could not be concluded. No result was called with the Spitfires on 52/0 after 4.1 overs.

The Spitfires missed out on the quarter-finals by 1 point in 2019, winning 6, losing 6, and seeing 2 no results in their 14 matches.

Kent Spitfires News

The Kent Spitfires have no injury concerns, so are likely to field the same side which took on Hampshire.

Middlesex vs Kent Spitfires Head to Head

While Middlesex hold a 3-2 advantage over the Kent Spitfires in their last 5 meetings, the Spitfires have won the last two encounters.

In their last encounter on 1 August 2019, the Spitfires scored 204/4 before restricting Middlesex to 176/7 at Lord's in London.

Middlesex vs Kent Spitfires Odds

Middlesex are priced at 2.10 to win the match with Unibet, while the Kent Spitfires are available at 1.73.

Middlesex vs Kent Spitfires Match Up

While not too much can be drawn from the opening round of matches thanks to the rain, Middlesex looked very good with the bat, while the Kent Spitfires did okay with the ball. Max Holden showed his class with the bat for Middlesex, so if he gets going again, the Spitfires bowlers may struggle to contain him.
