Delhi Capitals have been the best WPL team this season. And that reflects in their position on the WPL points table as they head the field, albeit not by much. A good run of form, with two straight wins, has pushed Gujarat Giants close on their heels in second.

While Delhi are heavy favourites to make the final, they will also be aware that this is a competitive season with some of the best players in the world. Delhi have plenty of confidence and momentum after beating Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore quite convincingly in their previous games.

Gujarat Giants have turned their season around too. There was a time this season where Gujarat were at the bottom of the table, seemingly dead and gone, but they have found a way to bring in some fluency and rhythm into their game, and subsequently the results.

Delhi have been in fabulous form in the WPL, particularly recently. They are coming into this leg in Lucknow on the back of two straight wins in consecutive matches, against two of the stronger teams, which will give them plenty of confidence.

Delhi will also be pleased with the return to form for Shafali Verma, who had some middling form in the lead-up to the tournament. She hit an unbeaten 80 off just 43 balls against RCB in the previous outing.

Gujarat Giants Form

Gujarat were challenged but came out comfortably on top in their previous match against the UP Warriorz. That dominance was led by Beth Mooney, who scored a classy 96 in batting-friendly conditions.

That win will please Gujarat because it came without a significant contribution from Ashleigh Gardner, who has been their best player this season. Deandra Dottin has also been in excellent form right through this WPL season.
