The Czech Premier League Darts was launched in April 2020 in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Also known as the 2020 Tipsport Premier League, it is a darts tournament aimed to introduce Czech darts players to the general public and raise money for charity.
All players play from home with a webcam making it possible for viewers to watch every match. Players announce their score after every throw with viewers able to view both players dartboards at the same time. The scoreboard is powered by DartConnect.

The field for the Czech Premier League Darts features10 players including the former PDC World Youth Championship runner-up and JDC World Darts Championship runner-up Adam Gawlas. Former PDC World Cup of Darts national team member Pavel Jirkal is also competing.
The other players have experience competing in international tournaments and are the best darts players in the Czech Republic. The current Czech number one, Karel Sedláček, was invited but was unable to compete due to the contract obligations to PDC.

Czech Premier League Darts Format
The Czech Premier League Darts sees each match start with a bulls-eye shootout to decide who starts the match.
Phase 1
Phase 1 consists of nine rounds where all ten players play each other once. Phase 1 matches have a maximum of 11 legs with the winner being first to six legs. At the end of Phase 1, the two bottom players are eliminated.
Phase 2
Phase 2 consists of seven rounds where the eight remaining players play each other once. Phase 2 matches have a maximum of thirteen legs with the winner being first to seven.
At the end of Phase 2, the bottom four players in the league table are eliminated and the first four players on the table qualify for the Play-off.
Play-off
The Play-off sees the top four players in the league table contest two semi-finals with 1st playing 4th and 2nd playing 3rd. The semi-finals and final have a maximum of 19 legs with the winner being first to 10 legs.
