PDC World Championship Final Preview

Reigning World Youth Champion Luke Littler has made a huge impact on his World Championships debut and the fairytale story could yet finish with him crowned champion at just 16.

"The Nuke" dumped out former BDO winner Christian Kist 3-0 in the first round and recorded a stunning average of 106 in the process on his Ally Pally debut.

The 16-year-old backed that up by defeating Andrew Gilding in the second round, although he had to work harder to progress courtesy of a 3-1 win.

In the third round, Littler was at it again with a 4-1 victory over Matt Campbell as he averaged 97.19 in the win. He then produced a stunning 105.01 average in a 4-1 victory over Raymond van Barneveld.

He was much too good for Brendan Dolan in the quarter-final, averaging 101.93 in a 4-1 victory, and then dumped out former champion Rob Cross in the semis with a 106.05 average in a 6-2 win.

Luke Humphries has risen to number three in the World Rankings, following a monumental 2023 season and is into the final of the World Championships for the first time.

The 2019 World Youth Champion made his Major breakthrough at the World Grand Prix, coming from a set down to beat Gerwyn Price 5-2 in the final.

A month later, Cool Hand Luke romped to victory in the Grand Slam, before beating Ryan Searle, James Wade, Ryan Joyce and Michael van Gerwen on his way to winning the Players Championship Finals in November.

At the World Championships at Ally Pally, Humphries defeated Lee Evans 3-0 in his opening match but had to win final set deciders to beat Ricardo Pietreczko 4-3 and Joe Cullen in the third and fourth rounds respectively.

Humphries was much more clinical in the quarter-final on Monday as he defeated Dave Chisnall 5-2 to progress to the last four for the first time.

He was even better in the semi-finals on Tuesday, averaging 108.74 in a 6-0 clean sweep of Scott Williams.
