PDC World Darts Championship Tips - Day Eleven Tips
Dirk van Duijvenbode vs Adam Hunt
Adam Hunt played really well to see off a game challenger in Lisa Ashton. He then followed up with a 3-0 win over Jamie Hughes in the second round, but that was pretty much a gimmie, as Hughes averaged less than 80 that day.
He'll have a much tougher time against DIRK VAN DUIJVENBODE, who came from two sets down to beat the World Youth Champion Bradley Brooks, before beating former king of the Ally Pally, Rob Cross in another final set decider. Van Duijvenbode got better the longer those matches went on, so I think he's going to be very hard for Hunt to beat in this best-of-nine set encounter.
Nathan Aspinall vs Vincent van der Voort
VDVV is more than capable of troubling NATHAN ASPINALL when on his game. Yet, the sixth-seed - who's reached the semi-finals on both of his two previous appearances in this tournament - will be confident having dragged himself past a very tricky second-round opponent in Scott Waites.
Big Vincent is one of the quickest throwers in the sport, and Aspinall is no slouch himself, so both will enjoy the pace of Tuesday's match. Aspinall should have too much class for van der Voort, and I expect him to make smooth progress into round four.
Gary Anderson vs Mensur Suljovic
He might be getting older. He might not be at the top of his game, and he might be struggling with a back injury. Yet, on his day, GARY ANDERSON remains capable of beating anyone in darts, and he's the best value bet of the day at 8/11.
The two-time Champion of the World will have to improve on his second-round match to see off Mensur Suljovic, who averaged just south of 100 when seeing beating Matthew Edgar. Anderson has beaten "The Gentle" the last four times they've played, including epic encounters in the Matchplay and the Grand Prix, and I think he'll have the edge over Suljovic again at the Ally Pally.
Gerwyn Price vs Brendan Dolan
GERWYN PRICE was far from his flashy best against Jamie Lewis in the opening round, grinding out a narrow 3-2 win. 12 months ago, Price was even less impressive when beating William O'Connor in his first match of the tournament, but then averaged 104 during a 4-0 drubbing of John Henderson in the third round.
Brendan Dolan played OK against Edward Foulkes, but I'm still expecting Price to win this comfortably, having gotten those first-match nerves out of his system. I can't see Price dropping more than a set, so I'm going to back him in the -2.5 Handicap market, meaning he'll have to win either 4-0 or 4-1.
