Gerwyn Price is the top seed for the 2022 Darts Masters and bookmaker William Hill have him as the man to beat in Milton Keynes.

The tournament gets underway on January 28 with the champion crowned two days later on January 30.

World number one Price has been made top seed as the leader of the PDC Order of Merit and he is the current tournament favourite at 7/2 with William Hill.

Price came close in this event last year, reaching the semi-finals before losing a deciding leg to Mervyn King.

Michael van Gerwen is a five-time Masters champion, although the last of those came in 2019. He is the 4/1 second favourite this week.

MVG hasn't won a major title for over 12 months and was forced to withdraw from the World Championship, but could the Masters bring out the best of him?

The 2020 champion Peter Wright, fresh from winning the World Championship, is the 5/1 third favourite. Last year he was knocked out in the last four by eventual champion Jonny Clayton.

Clayton is priced at 7/1 to successfully defend his crown but will have to come through a tough draw if he is to do so.

The only other player at single figure odds is 2020 Masters runner-up Michael Smith (9/1). He will have to bounce back from the disappointment of defeat to Wright in the World Championships final.
