World Series of Darts History

The World Series of Darts began in 2013 with the aim of making darts more popular around the world.

Two World Series tournaments were held in 2013, the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters and the Sydney Darts Masters. Tournaments in Singapore and Perth were added in 2014 followed by Yokohama, Tokyo, Auckland, Shanghai, Las Vegas, Melbourne and Düsseldorf in the following years.

Brisbane was added in 2018 with Gelsenkirchen replacing Düsseldorf for the German Masters. In 2019 the German Masters moved to Cologne and the Auckland Masters became the New Zealand Darts Masters, being relocated to Hamilton.

The top eight players from the World Series Darts tournaments qualified for the finals which began in 2015. The ranking is formed by the points each player earns in the World Series tournament.
