However, despite the Guerrillas’ lack of success throughout the season, they’ve shown some good things in CDL 2024 Major 4 Qualifiers, with three wins from six games played. Those include a 3-2 victory against Carolina Royal Ravens and two 3-0 sweeps of Boston Breach and Las Vegas Legion.

Two of those victories – against Legion and Breach – happened last week when Los Angeles Guerrilla seemed to have found momentum. But we must also consider that the Legion and Breach aren’t in the best shape.

Seattle Surge have been relatively successful this season. They collected two top-six Major finishes in Stage 1 and 3, which is nothing to sneeze at. But their online performances have not been great, namely in Stage 2 (11th) and Stage 3 (7th).

Their online struggles shouldn’t necessarily be described as such, as Seattle Surge has beaten CoD esports teams they were expected to and lost against teams that outmuscled them.

Over their last eight series, Seattle Surge have won five, against Minnesota RØKKR (3-1, 3-0), Carolina Royal Ravens (3-1), Toronto Ultra (3-2), and Boston Breach (3-0). Their three losses came against the Las Vegas Legion (2-3) and the New York Subliners (1-3, 1-3).

Those aren’t terrible results, but also not particularly great. Especially in CDL 2024 Major 4, the Seattle Surge haven’t shown much besides their upset victory against Toronto Ultra.

Seattle Surge defeated Los Angeles Guerrillas once before this season and they’re expected to do it again. That’s fair as Seattle Surge are a more stacked roster, however, we can’t ignore the improvement the Guerrillas have shown recently.

Whether the Guerrillas’ recent resurgence means anything is up to debate, but they’ve shown improvement, whereas Seattle Surge have not looked as crisp in their recent outings. Even though the Surge should win, Los Angeles Guerrillas look poised to take a couple of maps.
