The Thieves ended the online stage with a 3-2 record, which includes wins against Vegas Falcons (3-0), Boston Breach (3-0), and Cloud9 New York (3-0) and two defeats against Miami Heretics (2-3), and Atlanta FaZe (0-3).

Much like the Surge, LA Thieves have not won against any good teams and lost against two serious candidates to win the CDL 2025 Major 4. This does not paint a great picture for the Thieves, but it does not take away from what the LA Thieves have shown this season.

The defending Major champions have been close to unstoppable over the last two stages, and considering their past success against the Vancouver Surge, they should feel confident about their chances to win Friday.

Vancouver Surge made the grand finals of the last two Majors, which is very impressive. However, they have not had the best run in the Stage 4 online stage.

Surge ended CDL 2025 Major 4 Qualifiers tied for fifth place with a 3-2 record and a +3 round differential. Online, they lost to FaZe (2-3) and OpTic (0-3) and defeated Boston Breach (3-0), Toronto Ultra (3-1), and Minnesota RØKKR (3-1).

While the Surge ended the qualifiers strong, they have beaten just one good team in Toronto Ultra.

Los Angeles Thieves v Vancouver Surge

Vancouver Surge started the stage losing to OpTic and FaZe, but then bounced back with three wins against weaker teams. This does not give me an answer about whether they are ready to take on the Los Angeles Thieves.

It does not help that Surge's Search & Destroy is not great, and their Control is not at the level of the elite teams. They will have a very hard time making it past LA Thieves.
