New York Subliners finished the CDL 2023 regular season in third place, which is an impressive accomplishment. But even more impressive is that the Subliners are the only team that won two Majors.

Despite winning two Majors, the Subliners aren't getting as much respect, mainly because they haven't shown much over the entire season. They won CDL Major 1, then failed to finish higher than fourth in Majors 2-4 before the Subliners woke up and won CDL Major 5.

However, while their whole-season record isn't crazy good, we have to value New York Subliners' showing in the most recent Major more, as it indicates they're in excellent form ahead of the CDL Championship 2023.

Minnesota RØKKR have not won a Major this season, but they have collected two bronze medals from CDL Major 2 and CDL Major 5, which is hard to look past. However, in the most recent Major, the RØKKR had a very easy road to a top-three finish.

They won against Boston Breach and Florida Mutineers but got smashed by Alanta FaZe and New York Subliners, so realistically, they haven't shown much and haven't won against any of the top dogs.

This is New York Subliners' game to lose, and while they're not untouchable, we saw the Subliners sweep RØKKR just over two weeks ago, so it's fair to expect they can do it again. This seems to be a poor match for Minnesota RØKKR, however, the RØKKR seem to perform better on LAN, so perhaps they can keep it closer than expected.

New York Subliners can easily win with at least two maps to spare, but I like the odds on over 4.5 maps. There's a good chance the RØKKR find some traction and force game five; however, it's tough to imagine them beating the Subliners.
