OpTic Texas have looked very good throughout the year and finished CDL 2023 season in second place. Even though OpTic haven't won a single CDL Major, they placed fourth in CDL Major 2 and second in Major 3 and Major 4, which is still very impressive.

But although OpTic's solid showings thought the season, they lost momentum in CDL Major 5, where they placed ninth-12th with defeats against Florida Mutineers (0-3) and Los Angeles Thieves (0-3).

Those results are very concerning since they happened at an unfortunate time – two weeks before CDL Championship 2023 – so the question is, will OpTic Texas manage to bounce back and show the level of play we saw from them in March and April?

Boston Breach Form

Boston Breach are one of the weaker teams that qualified for CDL Championship 2023 and are rightly priced as one of the outsiders to win the CDL crown. They have had their moments throughout the season, but the Breach never placed higher than fourth at a Major (CDL Major 3) and were very disappointing at CDL Major 5 (ninth-12th).

The lack of success led Boston Breach to make a roster change ahead of CDL Championship 2023 by replacing Reece "Vivid" Drost with Eric "Snoopy" Pérez from Boston Academy. Even though there has to be a reason Boston Breach decided to promote Snoopy, he is still a rookie with no experience competing in CDL, let alone at CDL Championship.

He might be good, and there's a world where Snoopy plays a role in Boston Breach's resurgence, but we can imagine he'll have some stage nerves.

OpTic Texas v Boston Breach

OpTic Texas didn't have a good run at CDL Major 5, and it was weird to see them do so well online only to get eliminated from the Major in the first round. On the other side, Boston Breach haven't accomplished much more at Major 5 (or any LAN event), and their sudden roster change ahead of CDL Champs is a bit worrying.

And on top of all, Boston Breach have struggled against OpTic Texas this season (1-5 in the head-to-head), so there is very little reason to believe that Boston Breach can win. OpTic tend to lose maps against any team, so I'll give Boston Breach the benefit of the doubt that they can sneak in one map, but anything beyond that seems highly unlikely.
