OpTic Texas won their opening match of CDL Championship 2023 against Boston Breach with 3-1. OpTic were clearly the better team on the day, winning with 250-168 on Hotel – Hardpoint, 3-0 on Hotel – Control, and 250-192 on Fortress – Hardpoint.

However, even though OpTic won their first series of the tournament, beating Boston Breach isn't a massive accomplishment, especially considering how bad the Breach looked in the game. So despite OpTic's commanding victory, it's fair to question whether they're good enough to beat the Subliners.

New York Subliners Form

New York Subliners struggled a bit against Minnesota RØKKR on the opening day of CDL Championship 2023 and needed a reverse sweep to come out on top (3-2). In an unexpected turn of events, the RØKKR took an early lead (2-0) in the series, only to get smashed by the Subliners on the final three maps.

Results like that might seem worrying, but I expected the Subliners to struggle a bit in the opening match. Moreover, seeing them produce a reverse sweep after being 0-2 down is more impressive than it's worrying that the Subliners lost two maps.

So even though the Subliners looked vulnerable, their shaky win against Minnesota RØKKR only helped improve the offered CDL betting odds on their upcoming match.

OpTic Texas v New York Subliners

OpTic Texas are a great team and is rightly considered one of the potential candidates to win the CDL Championship 2023. However, they will likely struggle against New York Sublibers, who have proven time and time again that they're the real deal.

Ther Subliners are the only team to win two Majors this season, and if we ignore the fact that they needed a reverse sweep to defeat Minnesota RØKKR, New York Subliners have not produced a single concerning match in a month.

If New York Sublibers come in and play their A-game, they should win with relative ease.
