For the rematch, OpTic are billed as slight favourites, which is mainly due to their victory against Toronto Ultra last time out. However, OpTic have proven to be way too inconsistent for me to trust them to perform.

Toronto Ultra have been a bit shaky lately on all game modes, namely due to the poor form of their AR players. However, Ultra have managed back-to-back third-place finishes in the last two Majors, which should give the fans some hope that Ultra can wake up in Dallas.

OpTic Texas have had a very weird run through this stage. After two stages of concerning results, OpTic brought in Mercules as a new player, but only after winning their first match of the CDL 2025 Major 4 Qualifiers against Vancouver Surge (3-0).

Since then, OpTic Texas have produced a 2-2 record, with defeats against Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 and Boston Breach and two wins against Carolina Royal Ravens (3-0) and Toronto Ultra, whom OpTic bested on the final day of the qualifiers.

It is hard to say where OpTic are at and whether they are ready to perform on LAN. They lost to LAGM and Boston, which is worrying, but they also smashed Toronto Ultra, so it is hard to say what is going on here.

The big issue with Toronto Ultra are Insight and Beans, who are not playing well, which shows in Toronto Ultra's firepower. This is indicated in their shaky performances on Control and Hardpoint, but it is not like Toronto Ultra's Search & Destroy is good either.

There's a lot Toronto Ultra have to work on, but they have shown they can perform on LAN before, so there is a world where they surprise.

OpTic Texas v Toronto Ultra

OpTic Texas are a bit of an enigma, and their results from CDL 2025 Major 4 qualifiers do not help figure out where they stand. Stats-wise, they are great on Control (5-0), while Hardpoint and Search & Destroy are a bit iffy, with barely over 50% win rate.

The biggest worry is that OpTic tend to make too many mistakes, which cost them two games in the online stage, and it makes it hard to trust them to perform when needed.

This match could get interesting. While OpTic seem to be in a fine spot to defeat Toronto Ultra for the second time, I don't have much trust in either team to get it done cleanly.
