Beating MOUZ, who are the current no.1 Counter-Strike esports team, alone is a huge statement. And while that victory was considered a fluke, 9z also performed well against Team Liquid, so perhaps they’re stronger than what they were portrayed to be.

Team Vitality are ranked no.3 on the global Counter-Strike esports ladder, which is a good indication of where they stand. Even though Vitality haven’t won a tournament since BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024, they did well in some of the biggest events of the season, including PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 and ESL Pro League Season 19, where they placed top-four and second, respectively.

Having proven themselves as one of the elite few teams, Vitality were expected to do well at IEM Dallas 2024, and they’ve yet to disappoint. Even though they had a slow start, beating Monte 16-12, Vitality took care of business against G2 Esports with a convincing 2-0 sweep.

With just two defeats in the last 13 games, Vitality are in excellent form and we know how good they can be. So, seeing them priced as favourites for this match makes a lot of sense.

9z Team have done exceptionally well over their last two series for their standards, but expecting them to defeat Vitality just isn’t realistic.
