Esports bookmakers have Astralis priced as 1.44 favourites to defeat Eternal Fire, who enter the match as 2.62 underdogs. The offered betting odds make sense, considering Astralis have a much higher ceiling, but this is still a match between two fairly inconsistent teams, so anything can happen.
- Astralis have looked better during the group stage
- Eternal Fire found some traction in the latter stages of the group stage
- The teams are 1-1 in the head to head since April
Head to Head
Astralis and Eternal Fire last met in May, when Astralis won 2-1.

Astralis Form
Astralis have not found much success after the summer break, but after a month, when the new-look roster found the needed synergy, Astralis started to perform much better. In August, they made the semifinals at IEM Cologne 2023, and ahead of ESL Pro League Season 18, the Danes made another semifinal at Pinnacle Cupo IV.
During the group stage, Astralis looked decent. They lost their first match against Ninjas in Pyjamas (0-2) but then bounced back with three back-to-back clean sweeps of ORKS, GamerLegion, and FURIA Esports to reach the playoffs.
Beating ORKS, GamerLegion, and FURIA isn't particularly impressive, but Astralis looked very dominant in the three wins, which is an excellent sign. The only question now is whether the Danes can keep playing at this level.

Eternal Fire Form
Eternal Fire weren't expected to accomplish much at ESL Pro League Season 18, but despite the low expectations, the Turks have reached the playoffs. They lost their first match of the group stage against Cloud9 (0-2), then beat 9INE (2-0), lost against Virtus.pro (0-2), and completed their lower bracket run with a revenge win against Cloud9 (2-0) and a dominant victory against Team Liquid (2-0).
Despite their shaky start to the group stage, Eternal Fire have looked excellent, and by beating Liquid and Cloud9, EF proved that they could compete with anyone. Admittedly, Team Liquid and Cloud9 aren't in the best form, but they're up there with Astralis quality-wise.

Verdict
As the offered esports betting odds suggest, Astralis should beat Eternal Fire more times than not, and that sounds fair. Astralis are the better team, so unless something goes terribly wrong, the Danes should advance to the next stage.
That said, Eternal Fire have not looked too bad during the group stage and enter the playoffs as a team to watch out for. They likely won't make a deep run, but they're capable of punishing any team that gives them too much space.
I still believe Astralis should come out ahead, but I have faith in Eternal Fire to keep the series close.
