Cloud9 are one of the most stacked Counter-Strike rosters in the world, which makes it very tough to doubt this team and how high they can fly. However, on the other side, Cloud9 have yet to show anything remarkable, so it's not like we can feel overly optimistic about them either.

Cloud9 kicked off their ESL Pro League Season 18 campaign with a 2-0 sweep of Eternal Fire, but lost their next match against Complexity (0-2) in what was one of the biggest upsets of the tournament – or at least in Group D. Losing against Complexity looks bad as it is, but losing with 13-16, 6-13 makes it that much worse.

Cloud9 are a team that can pop off at any time, but given the team's shaky results since the summer break, it might be time to start believing that Cloud9 are a bit inconsistent and not a team that should be trusted when priced as huge favourites.

Team Liquid Form

Team Liquid lost their opening match of ESL Pro League Season 18 against Virtus.pro (1-2), but they deserve some slack for it since they had to play without Robert "Patsi" Isyanov. But even without their star riflers, Team Liquid played a solid series.

Liquid nearly defeated Virtus.pro in the opener, but they ran out of steam on the final map (14-16), which sounds promising, but it also, in part, had to do with the fact that Virtus.pro didn't play their best game. In their first match with the full roster, Team Liquid secured a convincing 2-0 sweep of Lynn Vision (16-9, 16-6), which is a decent result, but we have to keep in mind that Lynn Vision aren't particularly strong.

It's tough to say how Team Liquid will do in their upcoming match since they haven't had many chances to prove how good they are. This is not a particularly strong team, but they're also facing a squad that has shown to be very shaky, so perhaps there's a chance.

Cloud9 v Team Liquid

Cloud9 should win this match more times than not, which explains the offered CS:GO betting odds. However, even though Cloud9 field has better players and are objectively better than Team Liquid, their poor form makes it tough to back them at 1.44.

The question for this match is not so much whether Cloud9 can win but rather whether Cloud9 will manage to play a decent game and not stumble like they did against Complexity. Even though Team Liquid aren't very strong, they're still better than Complexity, so if we put more weight on recent results, then 1.44 on Cloud9 looks a bit too pricey.

I don't expect to see an upset, but I have faith in Team Liquid to steal at least one map.
