ESL Pro League (formerly ESL ESEA Pro League) is a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional league organised by ESL. It was initially based on four regions, Europe, Asia, Americas, and Oceania, but moved away from the regional format and created a unified league following a major format revamp in ESL Pro League Season 13.
ESL Pro League currently comprises 32 teams, including 15 partnered teams and 17 CS:GO squads who qualify for the event through various events serving as ESL Pro League qualifiers.
ESL Pro League is hosted bi-annually, is considered one of the most prestigious Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments in the world, and is one of the major professional leagues in the esports industry.

ESL Pro League Format
Starting with ESL Pro League Season 11, the tournament organisers restructured the format and removed the play-in stage of the playoffs. The format was again restructured after ESL Pro League Season 17, removing the round-robin format and increasing the teams to 32 (from 24).
The tournament is stil divided into two stages – the group stage and the playoffs.
Group Stage:
- Four triple-elimination groups of eight teams
- All matches are best-of-three (B03)
- The top four teams from each group advance to the playoffs.
Group stage winners advance to the quarterfinals
Group stage runners-up advance to the Round of 12 as High Seeds
Group stage 3rd place teams advance to the Round of 16 as High Seeds
Group stage 4th place teams advance to the Round of 16 as Low Seeds
Playoffs:
- Single-elimination bracket
- 16 teams
- All matches except for the grand final are best-of-three (Bo3)
- The Grand Final is best-of-five(Bo5)
ESL Pro League Prize Pool
ESL Pro League has regularly offered one of the biggest prize pools of all CS:GO tournaments and reached a new record with ESL Pro League Season 17, which offered $850,000 in total prize money.
The biggest jump in the prize pool happened in Season 13 when it went from $225,000 to $750,000.
