G2 Esports’ roster changes from July seem to be working out. They have played only a handful of games with the new-look lineup but have done well, with a runner-up finish at the Esports World Cup 2024, a gold medal from BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024, and a solid 3-1 run so far at IEM Cologne 2024.

G2’s run in Cologne did start rough, as they had to admit defeat to SAW (0-2) in the opening game of the group stage. But since then, G2 have demolished Spirit, Astralis, and paiN Gaming, showing that their opening round loss was nothing more than a fluke.
