Despite that defeat, Team Spirit are still one of the leading favourites to win the tournament, having shown a lot of great things this season. The same cannot be said for FaZe Clan, who have looked very rough since the turn of the year and have not looked even remotely good in their clashes with other top contenders.

FaZe Clan are a team who will wake up at one point and prove all the doubters wrong. I don’t believe that will happen anytime soon.

Team Spirit slipped against MOUZ in the upper bracket semifinals in a highly competitive three-map series. Spirit came close to winning the game 2-0 but lost overtime on Nuke (13-16) and an extended Ancient with 22-25.

It was far from a bad display from Spirit, who remain in contention for the BLAST Open Spring title as one of the more consistent and powerful Counter-Strike 2 teams in the world.

Prior to that loss, Spirit have managed an 8-2 record, with just two defeats against MOUZ and Vitality – a team who seems to be their kryptonite and the current hottest squad in the world.

FaZe Clan Form

FaZe Clan have not accomplished much this season. They did poorly in BLAST Bounty Spring 2025, did not impress in Katowice, and have managed a rather underwhelming 5-3 record from their last eight games.

That stretch includes losses to Falcons, Astralis, and Virtus.pro, while the victories came against SAW, Eternal Fire, MOUZ, and Astralis. Unlike Spirit, FaZe have not had a chance to play many great teams over the last month, but despite that, they have failed to produce consistent results.

With the talent on this roster, FaZe Clan are bound to find some traction and perform at the highest level. But they’re not quite there yet, so it is fair to question them and their chances of doing well against one of the world’s best CS2 teams.

Verdict

Team Spirit v FaZe Clan

There is very little to suggest FaZe Clan have a chance to defeat Team Spirit. While their ceiling is high, FaZe have not been posting very inspiring results of late, and until they prove they can perform consistently well, I’ll continue to doubt them.

Team Spirit need a strong showing here to bounce back from their painful loss against MOUZ and keep themselves in the race for the BLAST Open Spring 2025 title. With urgency should come a better performance and likely a 2-0 sweep for the Russian outfit.
