FURIA kicked off their BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 campaign with a 3-1 run through Stage 2. There, they defeated Lynn Vision Gaming (13-4), lost to their regional rivals, paiN Gaming (11-13), and won the last two games of the stage against M80 (13-8) and B8 (2-1).

The Brazilians looked solid throughout the four games and ended the stage with a 1.14 average performance rating as a unit. Their best played, YEKINDAR, ended the stage as the second-best-rated player at 1.32, ahead of KSCERATO at 1.29 and molodoy at 1.15.

Even though FURIA had the luxury of facing weaker opponents in Stage 2, they have shown good things and should not be ignored as underdogs who can shake up the field in Stage 3.

Verdict

The MongolZ v FURIA

The MongolZ look like the better team. They've beaten FURIA three times before this season and have reached much higher highs than the Brazilian lineup.

However, FURIA have been rejuvenated since the arrival of YEKINDAR and molodoy, and they looked solid in Stage 2 of the Major, where they've gained quite a bit of momentum ahead of the third stage.

Qualitatively, MongolZ are still the superior team, but with the way FURIA have been playing, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that the underdogs cause an upset.
