Anyone's Legend vs Ninjas in Pyjamas Prediction

Anyone's Legend and Ninjas in Pyjamas will clash on Friday, June 9, in the second week of the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2023 Summer. It'll mark their first meeting since LPL 2023 Spring when Ninjas in Pyjamas won 2-1.

Esports bookmakers have Anyone's Legend priced as 3.50 underdogs to defeat Ninas in Pyjamas, who enter the match as 1.28 favourites. The odds make sense, not necessarily because Ninjas in Pyjamas are very strong, but because Anyone's Legend are flawed and arguably the weakest team in the LPL.

  • Ninjas in Pyjamas won their last meeting with Anyone's Legend
  • Anyone's Legend have yet to show any improvement from LPL 2023 Spring
  • An important match for both teams

Head to Head

Ninjas in Pyjamas and Anyone's Legend last met during LPL 2023 Spring, when NiP won 2-1.

  • Ninjas in Pyjamas 2-1 Anyone's Legend – February 24, 2023

Anyone's Legend Form

Anyone's Legend were extremely weak last split, and without making any roster changes for LPL 2023 Summer, they likely won't achieve much more. This might sound harsh, but based on what Anyone's Legend have produced over the first week of play, it's a fair assessment.

AL kicked off the split with a loss against UltraPrime (1-2) and added a 0-2 loss against Team WE (0-2) at the end of Week 1. But then Anyone's Legend defied all the odds and defeated ThunderTalk Gaming (2-1) on Monday. It was a big upset win, but it doesn't change that Anyone's Legend are a fundamentally flawed team.

Moreover, beating ThunderTalk Gaming, while a massive accomplishment for AL's standards, doesn't mean they'll do well on Friday, as Ninjas in Pyjamas represent a step up in competition.

Anyone's Legend Squad & Team News

Anyone's Legend have not revealed any roster changes, but we might see Hu "iBoy" Xian-Zhao added to the active lineup.

  • Zhu "Zdz" De-Zhang – top lane
  • Peng "Xiaohao" Hao – jungle
  • Lin "pinz" Li-Pin – mid lane
  • Hu "iBoy" Xian-Zhao – ADC
  • Chen "zhiqiuyi" Yu-Ji – ADC
  • Yang "Zorah" Chong-Jiang – support

Ninjas in Pyjamas Form

Ninjas in Pyjamas are one of the weaker teams in the league, but they're not quite one of the bottom feeders. Their performances this season aren't that much different to how they were in LPL 2023 Spring, in which NiP finished in 13th place with a 5-11 record, but it's tough to make any conclusions after four games, especially considering which teams NiP had to play.

Ninjas in Pyjamas kicked off the year with a 0-2 loss against EDward Gaming, bounced back with a 2-0 sweep of Invictus Gaming, edged past LGD Gaming (2-1), and lost their most recent outing against Top Esports (0-2). So, in other words, Ninjas in Pyjamas won against other mid-table teams but got stomped by two of LPL's top dogs. There's not much to take from that.

Ninjas in Pyjamas Squad & Team News

Ninjas in Pyjamas have not announced any roster changes.

  • Li "Invincible" Xiao-Bing – top lane
  • Zhao "shad0w" Zhi-Qiang – jungle
  • Xiang "Angel" Tao – mid lane
  • Ying "Photic" Qi-Shen – ADC
  • Wang "Zhuo" Xu-Zhuo – support

Verdict

It's tough to feel excited about Anyone's Legend, who are not playing well and just might be the weakest team in the LPL. They caused quite an upset against ThunderTalk Gaming at the start of the week, but even that doesn't change the fact that Anyone's Legend can lose to anyone.

Admittedly, Ninjas in Pyjamas are not particularly strong and have a lot more to prove this season; however, they're still much better than Anyone's Legend. The side selection could make this match a bit more interesting, but even if AL get to pick the side, a lot will have to go right for them to come out on top.
