Cloud9 vs 100 Thieves Predictions
Cloud9 will meet with 100 Thieves on Sunday, July 21, in the fourth week of the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2024 Summer. It will be the team's first match after a three-week break, which is something to consider when betting on or against strong favourites.

League of Legends betting sites have Cloud9 priced as 1.22 favourites to defeat 100 Thieves, who enter the match as 3.80 underdogs. Considering how shaky 100 Thieves have looked so far this split, the betting odds on this match might not look too wrong.
- Cloud9 are 3-0
- 100 Thieves have won just one series so far this split
- A chance for 100 Thieves to bounce back
Head to Head
100 Thieves and Cloud9 have yet to meet this split.
Cloud9 Form
Cloud9 remain one of LCS's top LoL esports teams, granted that has less to do with what they've shown so far this split and more with what Cloud9 have produced this entire season. In LCS 2024 Summer, Cloud9 have already beaten Dignitas (2-1), Immortals (2-0), and Shopify Rebellion (2-0), which looks good on paper.
But.
Cloud9's only two sweeps came against two of the league's bottom teams, and they've not looked very dominant across the three games played – despite not facing any great LCS squads yet. The long break might've given Cloud9 time to figure out how to improve, but then we can also say the same for 100 Thieves, who have a lot more to prove.
Cloud9 Squad & Team News
Cloud9 have not made any roster changes.
- Park "Thanatos" Seung-gyu – top lane
- Robert "Blaber" Huang – jungle
- Joseph Joon "Jojopyun" Pyun – mid lane
- Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol – ADC
- Philippe "VULCAN" Laflamme – support
100 Thieves Form
100 Thieves ended the first three weeks of LCS 2024 Summer with a 1-2 record. They won against NRG (2-0) in the first week but have since added two losses against Dignitas (0-2) and Team Liquid (0-2).
This is a fairly concerning record, however, 100 Thieves didn't perform too poorly in the three series played. IN fact, 100T still have plenty of time to catch up with the rest of the league.
This doesn't mean that 100 Thieves are particularly good or that they're much better than what they've shown so far. However, the extended break will definitely benefit them to find some solutions and perhaps put up a respectable fight against Cloud9.
100 Thieves Squad & Team News
100 Thieves have not announced any changes.
- Rayan "Sniper" Shoura – top lane
- Kim "River" Dong-woo – jungle
- Lim "Quid" Hyeon-seung – mid lane
- Brandon "Meech" Choi – ADC
- Bill "Eyla" Nguyen – support
Verdict
Long breaks in LoL leagues typically benefit underdogs significantly, which explains why so many outsiders produce upsets after the season resumes. This doesn't guarantee that 100T will humiliate Cloud9, but there's a clear trend which suggests that fading favourites after breaks is the way to go.
This wouldn’t apply if 100 Thieves were a terrible team, but they're really not. They simply had a slow start to the split, yet that doesn't take away from their strong showings in spring when 100T ended the regular season in second place.
100 Thieves to keep it close seems reasonable at this number.
