CTBC Flying Oyster Form

CTBC Flying Oyster put the spotlight on them with their performance in the first round of MSI 2025 against T1. They outplayed the defending world champions in the first three maps, but unfortunately, they overcommitted after Baron on the first map.

Maps two and three were domination by LCP representatives, whereas T1 took control in the final two and edged out a win.

It was a really good showing from Flying Oyster and a not-so-good performance from T1, but that does not take away from what Doggo and his crew showed.

The big question before the event was which version of Movistar KOI we were going to get, and at least for their opening match, it was the "good" version, which just came out short against a superior opponent.

Knowing how volatile Movistar KOI can be, the same question can be asked for their upcoming series. A good version will be more than competitive against CFO, but if Movistar KOI show their other side, a one-sided game is more likely to play out.

Both teams have proven they can hang with the best squads in the world with their performances in the first round. However, I would argue Movistar KOI are less likely to replicate that showing, mainly due to their high volatility and tendency to shoot themselves in the foot.

Admittedly, there is a world where KOI have a good day and take down CTBC Flying Oyster, but the latter are a more stable team and a more inviting bet at these numbers.
