G2 Esports have looked anything but inspiring this tournament, struggling to perform both against FURIA Esports and Bilibili Gaming. Something is not clicking in this team, and it's becoming evident that they just might not have it in them.

G2 Esports started MSI 2025 with a very concerning 3-2 victory against FURIA Esports, and they've hardly shown any improvement in their recent clash against Bilibili Gaming.

Maps two and three were relatively close for the first 20 minutes, but G2 Esports never truly put themselves in an advantageous position and never stood a chance of winning the series. G2 Esports were clearly outmatched by China's no.2 seed.

This is not too worrying, but the eye test shows that something is not clicking in G2. They're not playing well, and while there is no clear reason for their struggles, G2 are plain playing poorly.

GAM Esports Form

GAM Esports got smashed by Bilibili Gaming in the first match of MSI 2025 (0-3), although they had a decent chance of winning the second map. After a relatively decent showing against the Play-In strongest team, GAM bested FURIA Esports in the second round and put themselves one win away from proceeding to the bracket stage.

The latter was a slugfest of a match which went the full distance. GAM had a few lucky moments, which helped them come out ahead, but they were the better team. Levi and Kiaya were stars of the show, performing very well and giving GAM Esports the little boost they needed to come out ahead.

As it seems, GAM Esports have figured some things out and are playing well for their standards. But will it be enough to take down G2 Esports?

G2 Esports are 1.33 favourites for this match, which should not surprise anyone. They were viewed as one of the top teams in the Play-In and, in the eyes of many, dark horses to win the whole event.

However, G2 Esports' past showings inspire little confidence and the way they've been playing, I find it hard to trust them to deliver. But the quality difference alone is a good enough reason to take G2 Esports to bring it home with a couple of rounds to spare.

I'll give GAM Esports one map. But as bad as G2 Esports have been, I have to take their side.
