We have seen G2 Esports play just one series so far this tournament, but it was enough for European champions to prove their worth. Had a few minor things gone another way, G2 Esports would've won that series, at which point we could start talking about the realistic possibility of G2 winning the whole thing.

PSG Talon Form

PSG Talon started MSI 2024 in the Play-In stage, where they had a rough launch, however, then made it to the second stage with a strong display against FlyQuest in the decider match. But they didn't stop there.

In the opening round of the MSI 2024 Bracket Stage, PSG Talon pushed Chinese champions Bilibili Gaming to five maps. Like G2 Esports, PSG Talon ended up folding on map five; however, they still proved they could compete at an elite level, making them a serious threat to any team they end up facing.

G2 Esports v PSG Talon

G2 Esports and PSG Talon both outperformed expectations in the first round – but perhaps more so PSG Talon, who went toe-to-toe with one of the strongest teams in the world. The 2-3 loss doesn't tell the whole story; however, as Bilibili Gaming dropped game two with one of the biggest throws of the year.

This leaves a stain on PSG Talon's solid showing on the day, but it doesn't take away from the fact that PSG Talon performed well. It's still very hard to argue against G2 Esports winning this series, yet at 1.53, PSG Talon to win at least one map is an obvious choice.

Although an exceptional team, G2 Esports can slip, and they have slipped several times this year. In a best-of-five series, there's a good chance G2 will drop at least one.
