The best League of Legends bookmakers have T1 priced as 2.30 underdogs to defeat Hanwha Life Esports, who enter the series as 1.60 favourites. This isn't too shocking considering T1's poor showings in the second half of the split; however, with T1 you never know when they'll wake up.

  • Hanwha Life Esports ended the regular season in second place
  • T1 lost both their meetings with Hanwha Life Esports this season
  • T1 didn't look great in the first round of the playoffs

Head to Head

Hanwha Life Esports and T1 met twice back during the regular season and both meetings ended in Hanwha Life Esports' victory.

  • Hanwha Life Esports 2-1 T1 – July 12, 2024
  • Hanwha Life Esports 2-0 T1 – July 20, 2024

Hanwha Life Esports Form

Hanwha Life Esports secured a direct bye into the second round of the LCK 2024 Summer Playoffs by placing second in the regular season. While this was somewhat surprising to see, HLE more than deserved this success.

For the first time in a long time, Hanwha Life Esports actually posted competitive games against stronger opponents – something they failed to do prior due to their style of play where HLE wait for their opponents to make mistakes rather than trying to make something happen on their own. Luckily, some of the top LoL esports in the league struggled this split, allowing HLE to shine.

This is important to note, as we must adjust how this playoff series will play out. If you believe this dynamic of top squads making mistakes will continue, then Hanwha Life Esports should do more than fine.

Hanwha Life Esports Squad & Team News

No roster changes for Hanwha Life Esports.

  • Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon – top lane
  • Han "Peanut" Wang-ho – jungle
  • Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo – mid lane
  • Park "Viper" Do-hyeon – ADC
  • Yoo "Delight" Hwan-joong – support

T1 Form

T1 have had some very concerning performances over the LCK 2024 Summer regular season. They looked very prone to making mistakes and have produced some of the worst series of the entire season, even putting themselves in a position where T1 nearly missed the playoffs.

However, despite their struggles, T1 looked way more like themselves in their fixture against KT Rolster. Even though KT Rolster are much weaker than Hanwha Life Esports, T1 showed a very methodical approach to that series and actually played a clean game – which could be a sign of great things to come.

One good game doesn't prove much, however, we know T1 have incredible upside, which makes it hard to doubt them and their chances to defeat anyone.

T1 Squad & Team News

No changes for T1.

  • Choi "Zeus" Woo-je – top lane
  • Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun – jungle
  • Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok – mid lane
  • Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong – ADC
  • Ryu "Keria" Min-seok – support

Verdict

Hanwha Life Esports were the better-performing team throughout the regular season, so it makes sense to see them priced as favourites. However, past form doesn't necessarily mean HLE are more likely to win.

Their style of play is still very inefficient against teams who don't make many mistakes and T1 can be that type of team. They've not had the best games during the regular season, but T1 showed up against KT Rolster and played a very clean fixture – which could indicate T1 are back and ready to compete for the LCK trophy.

Knowing T1's high upside, it makes sense to take their side in this contest. It's also likely we will see T1 run over Hanwha Life Esports in the early game, which could lead to fast maps. So, taking under 4.5 dragons is worth a look too.
