Karmine Corp began their First Stand campaign with a tough loss to Team Liquid in the opener while Top Esports were properly and convincingly beaten by Hanwha Life Esports in their first match.

Karmine Corp carried Team Liquid all the way, right into a third map, but they were battered in the third map as Liquid racked up 19 kills to Karmine’s three. Karmine Corp dominated the second map though. They needed just 23 minutes to register 20 kills and take the match into a third map.

Top Esports had no chance against the discipline and skill of Hanwha in their opener. In two maps, Top Esports managed a combined 13 kills as opposed to Hanwha’s 37 kills. Top Esports went too early, too aggressively and were made to pay.

There isn’t a lot to discuss, from an offensive standpoint, for Karmine Corp. Vladi, their mid laner, managed to average 2 kills but his KDA of 1.75 meant that there were far too many deaths to sustain any pressure.

Caliste, in the bottom lane, was quite efficient, with 2.67 kills, 1.33 deaths and 1 assist per map as he managed a team-best KDA of 2.75. He even led the team in CS (creep score) with 301.33 and GPM of 371, again a team best.

Karmine Corp got decent coverage from Yike in the jungle as he managed a KDA of 2/4/3 (KDA of 1.25). Against Top Esports, you would expect Karmine need all the offensive help they need, particularly in the jungle.

Top Esports did not get even one kill from top laner 369 and support Crisp. Even Crème, in the middle lane, managed just one kill over two maps. All the kills and offense had to come from JackeyLove and Kanavi, who were decent but were killed far too often.

Jungler Kanavi was probably Top Esports’ best player with 3.5 kills, 4.5 deaths and 2 assists per map on average. JackeyLove’s biggest strength is his aggression in the bottom lane, and 2.5 kills is not evidence of his prowess.
