MAD Lions KOI vs Fnatic Predictions

MAD Lions KOI and Fnatic are set to clash on Saturday in the second round of the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) 2024 Season Finals. The winner will advance to the grand finals and fight for a direct invite to LoL Worlds 2024, while the loser will face off against the winner of Team BDS vs G2 Esports series in the lower bracket final.

Unsurprisingly, the top League of Legends betting sites have priced MAD Lions KOI as underdogs for this series at 2.70. Meanwhile, Fnatic are 1.45 favourites to come out ahead, which, given their performances this season, is more than a fair offer.

  • Fnatic are one of the top teams from EMEA
  • MAD Lions humiliated G2 Esports in the first round
  • Winner advances to the finals

Head to Head

Fnatic and MAD Lions KOI met once this split, in June when Fnatic won.

  • Fnatic 1-0 MAD Lions KOI – June 22, 2024

MAD Lions KOI Form

MAD Lions KOI enter the second round of the LEC 2024 Season Finals off a huge victory against the league’s top team, G2 Esports. This came after a very concerning run through the regular season, where it seemed like MAD Lions KOI hit a new low.

Prior to the summer split, MAD Lions KOI posted solid results and seemed to be slowly figuring things out. Their victory against G2 Esports might suggest the Spanish squad actually did find some traction. However, it was a very weird series.

Even though we can praise MAD Lions KOI for beating G2 Esports, the end result of that series was more a byproduct of G2 Esports playing poorly, and they (finally) got punished for it. Ultimately, that result doesn’t prove G2 Esports are now weak and in the same sense, it doesn’t prove MAD Lions KOI are strong – they simply took the win which was offered to them.

MAD Lions KOI Squad & Team News

No announced roster changes for MAD Lions KOI.

  • Alex "Myrwn" Pastor Villarejo – top lane
  • Javier "Elyoya" Prades Batalla – jungle
  • Bartłomiej "Fresskowy" Przewoźnik – mid lane
  • David "Supa" Martínez García – ADC
  • Álvaro "Alvaro" Fernández del Amo – support

Fnatic Form

Fnatic absolutely demolished Team BDS in the first round of the LEC 2024 Season Finals, yet the situation here is somewhat similar to what happened between G2 Esports and MAD Lions KOI. Team BDS were a complete no-show on the day, allowing Fnatic to run them over en route to a 3-0 sweep.

While we can not praise Team BDS too much for what they have shown on the day, Fnatic did play extremely well, proving once more why they are serious candidates to win the LEC – even though they usually get outplayed by G2 Esports in the end.

Performance stats-wise, Fnatic are playing like an elite LoL esports team, and are, along with G2 Esports, miles ahead of the competition. The problem is, however, that Fnatic can have games where they will shoot themselves in the foot, which is always a possibility.

Fnatic Squad & Team News

No roster changes for Fnatic.

  • Óscar "Oscarinin" Muñoz Jiménez – top lane
  • Iván "Razork" Martín Díaz – jungle
  • Marek "Humanoid" Brázda – mid lane
  • Oh "Noah" Hyeon-taek – ADC
  • Yoon "Jun" Se-jun – support

Verdict

Fnatic defeated MAD Lions KOI the last time they met, and according to the esports betting odds, they are expected to win again. That’s more than fair, as Fnatic have been the better team this split, posting significantly better performances, not to mention that this lineup has a much higher ceiling.

MAD Lions KOI, as they proved in earlier splits, are no pushovers. They work extremely well as a unit, and despite the lack of individual talent, they are well-coached and always a threat. However, they did not look like themselves in the LEC 2024 Summer regular season, and their upset win against G2 Esports doesn’t change the fact that the MAD Lions have been very sloppy.

Fnatic can be a bit of a hit-or-miss at times due to their tendency to overextend, but qualitatively, they’re the superior team here.
