NRG Esports started their LoL Worlds 2023 campaign with a loss against Weibo Gaming, which was an expected result. And even though NRG showed some moments of greatness in that game, they were unquestionably the worst team.

In the second round of the tournament, NRG Esports crushed Team Liquid and looked good doing it. But while we can praise NRG Esports for that performance, we must also consider that they have played Team Liquid before, during the LCS regular season, so we have to take that success with a grain of salt.

NRG Esports aren't a very good team, and they won't make it far this tournament. However, they have shown some good qualities and should be able to do some damage against MAD Lions, who've not looked great.

MAD Lions Form

MAD Lions had a rough start to the tournament when they lost against Cloud9, who humiliated Europe's third seed. Thankfully, MAD Lions drew Team BDS as their round-two opponents, who presented much less of a challenge for MAD, who were ready to take on a team they've played several times this season.

MAD Lions looked solid in their win against Team BDS, but much like it's the case with NRG and their win against Team Liquid, it doesn't mean much, nor will it necessarily translate to Sunday.

Overall, the MAD Lions have not impressed and look flawed. However, it remains to be seen whether NRG Esports have the tools to exploit MAD Lions' weaknesses and shut down Elyoya.

This match looks closer to a coin flip than anything else, so I'll gladly take NRG Esports at 2.00 or over.
