ThunderTalk Gaming vs Anyone's Legend Predictions

ThunderTalk Gaming and Anyone's Legend will meet on Monday, June 5, in Week 2 of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2023 Summer. It'll mark their first meeting since the final round of LPL 2023 Spring when ThuderTalk Gaming won 2-0.

Esports bookmakers have ThunderTalk Gaming priced as 1.20 favourites to defeat Anyone's Legend, who are expected to struggle and enter this match as 4.33 underdogs. The huge price gap isn't that surprising, both because TT Gaming have looked better this split and because Anyone's Legend lacks the talent to be considered a competitive team.

  • ThunderTalk Gaming are 1-1 after the first week of action
  • Anyone's Legend have yet to win a game this split
  • This should be a routine win for TT Gaming

Head to Head

ThunderTalk Gaming and Anyone's Legend have yet to meet with their current lineups.

ThunderTalk Gaming Form

TunderTalk Gaming had a pretty solid start to the LPL 2023 Summer, and even though they went 1-1 in the first week of play, TT Gaming didn't disappoint. Even against FunPlus Phoenix, TT Gaming had an explosive start and held a significant gold lead early before they fell apart in the mid-late game.

Seeing TT Gaming fall apart like that is a bit concerning, and some of their lack of success was also due to the draft, but I won't overreact to it. That is mainly because ThunderTalk Gaming performed well against LGD Gaming in their second match and earned a hard-fought 2-1 win.

ThunderTalk Gaming look like a solid team that should compete for a playoff spot. They still have some rough edges, and there's room for improvement, but so far, they've shown enough for me to believe TT Gaming will compete for a mid-table finish.

ThunderTalk Gaming Squad & Team News

ThunderTalk Gaming have made a couple of roster changes ahead of LPL 2023 Summer and signed a new bottom lane in ADC Li "1xn" Xiu-Nan and support Liang "yuyanjia" Jia-Yuan. 1xn has played just one game this split, whereas yuyanjia has appeared in both of TT Gaming's games of LPL 2023 Summer.

  • Yoon "HOYA" Yong-ho – top lane
  • Yang "Beichuan" Ling – jungle
  • Son "ucal" Woo-hyeon – mid lane
  • Li "1xn" Xiu-Nan – ADC
  • Tang "huanfeng" Huan-Feng – ADC
  • Bi "yaoyao" Hao-Tian – support
  • Liang "yuyanjia"  Jia-Yuan – support

Anyone's Legend Form

Anyone's Legend are a bottom-half team and much weaker than most of the league. And while that may not seem too bad, we have to remember that the gap between the bottom and mid-table teams in the LPL is quite massive.

They were one of the worst teams in the LPL 2023 Spring – which Anyone's Legend finished with a 3-13 record – and despite the roster changes, I have a hard time believing they'll achieve much more this split. On a more positive note, Anyone's Legend won a map against UltraPrime (1-2) in the opening match of the season, but again, UP are one of the weaker teams, so even that doesn't count for much.

Based on this roster's quality and what AL have shown so far, this team shouldn't be winning games unless their opponents shoot themselves in the foot.

Anyone's Legend Squad & Team News

Anyone's Legends have signed three new players ahead of LPL 2023 Summer, including ADCs Hu "iBoy" Xian-Zhao and Chen "zhiqiuyi" Yu-Ji and a support Yang "Zorah" Chong-Jiang.

  • Zhu "Zdz" De-Zhang – top lane
  • Peng "Xiaohao" Hao – jungle
  • Lin "pinz" Li-Pin – mid lane
  • Hu "iBoy" Xian-Zhao – ADC
  • Chen "zhiqiuyi" Yu-Ji – ADC
  • Yang "Zorah" Chong-Jiang – support

Verdict

The latest LoL esports betting odds suggest this is ThunderTalk Gaming's game to lose, and I must agree. Even though early-season matches tend to be more volatile, Anyone's Legend have not shown enough to inspire any confidence ahead of this match. They field a weaker roster and aren't playing nearly as well as TT Gaming.

One slight concern was TT Gaming's poor mid-late game transition against FunPlus Phoenix, but even in that match ThunderTalk gained a massive early gold lead and only lost because FPX were good enough to claw their way back into the game – I don't see AL doing the same.
