The RLCS 2022/23 World Championship, the season finale, will kick off on August 3 in Dusseldorf, Germany, with 24 teams competing for a $2.1 million prize pool.
This year's championship adopts the familiar Wildcard Stage, Group Stage, and Playoffs format. The participating teams hail from seven regions, including Europe, North America, South America, MENA, Asia-Pacific, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Oceania.
Team Vitality heads into the tournament as the favourite, having won all three European regional events and the Spring Split Major, closely followed by the likes of Team BDS and Karmine Corp.

Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) 2022/23 World Championship is set to start on Thursday, August 3, as the season-culminating event of the 2023 RLCS Season. The tournament will head to Dusseldorf, Germany, and welcome 24 Rocket League teams vying for the lion's share of the $2.1 million prize pool.

Who Are RLCS 2022/23 World Championship Favourites?

The RLCS World Championship 2022/23 will mark the 10th iteration of the event and the second since the RLCS's region expansion in the 2021/22 season. Compared to last season, the tournament hasn't changed much, again welcoming 24 Rocket League esports teams competing for the coveted trophy; however, the tournament prize pool has gone up from $2,085,000 to $2,100,000, making the RLCS 2022/23 World Championship the most lucrative event in the RLCS history.

This year, the RLCS 2022/23 World Championship will head to PSD Bank Dome in Dusseldorf, Germany, marking the first time that the World Championship will be held in Germany and the fourth time it'll happen in Europe.

Tournament Format

RLCS 2022/23 World Championship will use a familiar format from last season, dividing the event into three stages – the Wildcard Stage, Group Stage, and Playoffs.

RLCS 2022/23 World Championship Teams

The tournament organisers have already confirmed the full list of 24 participating teams from seven regions (Europe, North America, South America, MENA, Asia-Pacific, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Oceania). The teams are divided into two groups – Wildcard teams and Group Stage teams – based on their regional rankings and the region they're from.

Group Stage Teams: Karmine Corp, Team Liquid, Team Vitality, Team BDS, Gen.G Mobil1 Racing, FaZe Clan, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Rule One.

Wildcard Teams: Moist Esports, Oxygen Esports, G1, Complexity Gaming, Spacestation Gaming, G2 Esports, Pioneers, PWR, KRU Esports, Team Secret, Team Falcons, Twisted Minds, Elevate, Gaimin Gladiators, Limitless, Valiant (formerly French class).

Who Are RLCS 2022/23 World Championship Favourites?

The RLCS 2022/23 World Championship promises to be a close tournament featuring a handful of teams that can go all the way. However, there's a clear divide between the main favourites to win RLCS 2022/23 World Championship and the rest.

Team Vitality are considered by far the best team ahead of the tournament, as the most dominant team from Europe. The French squad won all three European regional events and added a Spring Split Major title at the start of July, essentially winning every tournament of the spring split.

Close behind are Team Vitality's close rivals and Spring Major finalists, Team BDS and Karmine Corp, with both teams showing strong form in Europe, but neither managed to catch up with the in-form Vitality.

Gen.G Mobil1 Racing are seen as the fourth-most likely team to win the RLCS 2022/23 World Championship, as the strongest Rocket League esports team from North America; however, despite the team's domestic success and a top-six finish at Spring Split Major, Gen.G Mobil1 Racing are not considered as strong as EU's top representatives.
