Twisted Minds and Team Vitality will lock horns on Thursday, March 27, in the opening round of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) 2025 Birmingham Major in what promises to be an exciting affair between two squads with a real chance to win the trophy.

Team Vitality are billed as favourites, as they head to Birmingham with a chip on their shoulder after losing the title of Europe’s top team to Karmine Corp. Twisted Minds, on the other side, have no pressure to perform at the Major.

They have shown great things this season and are definitely a threat for a deep run, but their true potential will not be known until this Thursday when Twisted Minds take on one of the top contenders.

Vitality look like a safe pick, but I would not sleep on Twisted Minds, who are one of the more dangerous dark horses to upset the field.

Team Vitality lived most of the season in Karmine Corp’s shadow as Europe’s second-strongest team. Yet the yare not even considered one of the top-three favourites to win the Major.

This seems a bit off, as Vitality field one of the most stacked and experienced rosters in the world, including two reigning world champions and zen, who has made a strong case for himself as one of the top Rocket League players in the world.

It is very hard to question a team of this calibre, but Vitality will have to get off to a strong start to the tournament, get momentum early and prove what they’re capable of. This, while possible, will not be easy to accomplish as Vitality face a tough opponent.

Twisted Minds Form

Twisted Minds might not belong in the group of the main title contenders, but they are arguably one of the deadliest dark horses to win the event.

MENA’s second-seed field a very experienced and talented roster, which caused serious issues to Team Falcons during the regular season. For that reason alone, Twisted Minds deserve some respect.

You also can not ignore just how experienced this roster is on LAN, namely rise, who has played more LAN tournaments than any player in the RLCS history. He is surrounded by two excellent individual talents who can perform against any team in the world.

Twisted Minds have a very high ceiling, and as a second seed from an emerging region, they have not pressure to perform. The same can not be said about Team Vitality.

Team Vitality v Twisted Minds

The lack of pressure Twisted Minds feel coming into the Major is one of the big reasons why they should be considered one of the serious dark horses to win the tournament. While they have managed to win just one MENA Open event (and placed second in Open 1 and 3), Twisted Minds have only really struggled against Team Falcons, who are up there with Team Vitality.

The quality difference between Vitality and Twisted Minds is a bit blurry as it all comes down to how good you believe Vitality are. Although it would not be beyond the realms of possibility for Vitality to win the Major, I like my chances with Twisted Minds to take a bite out of the Bees on Thursday.
