G2 Esports were billed as the main favourites before the VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025 kickoff, but have since shown cracks, losing to Paper Rex in the upper bracket quarterfinals. Likewise, Fnatic had to produce a lower-bracket run after getting eliminated from the upper bracket by Gen.G.

Both teams have shown significant improvement in the lower bracket, proving they're ready to complete the run and reach the big stage. And while G2 Esports are favoured, Fnatic have shown enough to believe they can hold their own on Friday.

  • G2 Esports were the tournament favourites
  • Fnatic have looked very solid in their last two outings
  • Expect a competitive game

G2 Esports Form

After losing to Paper Rex in the first game of VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025, G2 Esports have found more success in the lower bracket, where they crushed XLG Esports (2-0) and edged past Gen.G (2-1).

The latter was G2's second game against a good opponent, and while they came out ahead, it was not the most convincing display from the VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025 runners-up.

G2 Esports won Lotus 13-7, lost Haven 11-13, and had to produce a comeback from 4-11 to edge out a win on Icebox. It was a remarkable bounce back, but not something you can expect G2 Esports to consistently manage.

Fnatic Form

Fnatic kicked off their VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025 campaign with a 1-2 loss against Gen.G but looked much cleaner in the lower bracket, where they eliminated Rex Regum Qeon (2-1) and Sentinels (2-1).

Both games extended to three maps, but Fnatic were the better team and never looked to be in danger of losing either of the two series.

They looked particularly good on Ascent but have also shown they can perform on Icebox and Split as well. While we have not seen them play the map this tournament yet, Fnatic are also very good on Fracture.

Individually, Fnatic have not had as many stand-out performers as other VALORANT teams. But as a unit, they're in a very good spot and in excellent shape.

Verdict

G2 Esports and Fnatic both have the tools to win the whole event, and they've both played well enough to believe that one of the two will make the grand finals. According to the latest betting odds, G2 Esports are more likely to accomplish that feat.

G2 Esports have won far more than Fnatic this season, so it makes sense for them to be viewed as the favourites. However, G2 Esports' performances at Masters Toronto have hardly been any better than Fnatic's.

This is a 50/50 game at best, so I'll happily take Fnatic at 2.10.
