FUT Esports and KOI will clash on Thursday, March 27, in the first week of VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2025: EMEA Stage 1. This will mark the first meeting between the two European VALORANT esports teams of the season.

FUT Esports are heavily favoured to start VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 1 with a win, as they take on KOI, who showed very little in the Kickoff event.

With two losses to Team Liquid and Gentle Mates, KOI proved they do not belong among the best teams in the region. FUT Esports, on the other hand, showed some good things but came short of breaking into the top three.

This should be a straightforward game for FUT Esports, who have proven that they’re a stronger team early into the season. And while we’ve not seen much from either roster this year, a lot will have to go right for KOI to walk away from this series with anything.

This will mark the first meeting between KOI and FUT Esports of the 2025 season.

FUT Esports were one of the better European VALORANT teams in 2024, and they were expected to make more noise in 2025. And they did.

The Turkish squad placed fourth in the VCT 2025: EMEA Kickoff with a 2-0 sweep of Team Liquid, followed by two painful losses to Team Vitality (0-2) and Liquid (1-2), who got their revenge in the lower bracket semifinal, denying FUT a top-three finish.

Despite that painful loss, FUT have proven themselves as strong contenders in the VCT EMEA, who should not struggle against the likes of KOI.

KOI Form

KOI replaced most of their roster for the 2025 esports season, but despite all the changes, they’ve not found much success yet. KOI ended VCT 2025: EMEA Kickoff in last place, following two losses to Gentle Mates and Team Liquid.

In their defence, KOI picked up a map in both losses. They won Fracture (13-10) against Team Liquid and Lotus (13-7) against Gentle Mates. Yet the remaining four maps were not even remotely close, so it is fair to say KOI have not shown much.

With lacklustre results from the Kickoff event, KOI have a lot more to prove, but it is more than fair to question whether they can do much better, especially with no roster changes this offseason.

Verdict

FUT Esports v KOI

Both teams have had a while to prepare for VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 1, which typically favours the underdogs more. But even with added preparation time, I do not see KOI as a serious threat to FUT Esports.

The Turkish squad have the experience and talent to compete for a spot at VALORANT Masters Toronto and should not be doubted when faced with weaker teams.

Admittedly, FUT have not shown the same heights as other top contenders, but they’re very efficient in beating weaker teams, making them an excellent bet to defeat KOI and start the stage with a win.
