Over the last three weeks, G2 Esports have beaten Evil Geniuses (2-0) and FURIA Esports (2-0), while their only loss came against the surging 100 Thieves (0-2). This isn't a bad record to hold by any metrics, and it's especially impressive, considering this is a newly promoted team with little experience competing at the top level.

Most notably, G2 Esports also defeated Sentinels during the Kickoff tournament, but it's been nearly two months since, so that doesn't count for much.

Leviatan were considered one of the best teams in VCT Americas before the season started. But their early showings left a lot to be desired.

The Latin American squad started the season with a rough 1-2 record in VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff, with one win against 100 Thieves and two losses against Cloud9 (1-2) and Sentinels (1-2). They also failed to amaze in the first round of Stage 1, when Leviatan lost to Cloud9 (1-2).

However, since then, Leviatan shifted into a higher gear and defeated Sentinels (2-0) and NRG (2-0) convincingly. And with that put themselves on the map as the most in-form team in the league.

Their victory against NRG was especially notable, as Leviatan won with 13-4 on both maps, humiliating a squad many believed to be one of the main candidates to win the league.

G2 Esports v Leviatan

Leviatan made a huge splash across the last two rounds of VCT 2024: Americas Stage 1 when they humiliated Sentinels and NRG, proving they're the real deal. Whether Leviatan will manage to keep playing at this level remains to be seen, but they're unquestionably the hottest team in the league.

G2 Esports have shown some good games over the last few weeks, but they've not beaten any great teams, which suggests they might not be ready to face Leviatan. On the other hand, it's hard to find any major flaws with G2 Esports, so it's likely they can take a map from Leviatan.
